Services

The following is a summary of the 6-component resident services model. This list is not exhaustive, as we have provided additional supportive services to meet the unique needs of particular affordable housing communities.

Early Childhood Education

Early childhood education classes, toddler playdates and toy exchanges for children 0-5 years old and their parents/caregivers.

After School Program/Youth Intervention

After-school programs, summer day camps, fun teen nights and field trips for K-8th grade resident youth.

Courtesy

Courtesy staff patrols the affordable housing communities, address minor lease violations, builds relationships with residents, and partners with the housing management and local law enforcement to create a safe and stable community.

Information and Referral Services

Residents can call, email or drop-in at the Resident Services office to obtain information and resources for food, clothing, transportation, health/mental health, etc...

Community Events

Promoting social connectedness and building community, community events are held weekly in the community space. Residents assist in identifying community events for their community. Past community events have included: National Night Out, literacy events, cooking activities, crafts, billiards, movie nights and barbeques.

Special Initiatives

Programs created to meet a specific need in the community or a short-term enrichment program provided through a community partnership. We recently concluded a literacy program for struggling K-2nd grade youth at Ames Lake Neighborhood provided through a partnership with the i.t.a. Foundation and St. Paul Police Activities League. We have also had healthy community dinners and nutritional education program provided through a partnership with Allina Health and the University of Minnesota.
